thematic photographic - up

had some time yesterday, so I went to look for pictures of "up" (see Carmi's site http://writteninc.blogspot.com/2009/02/thematic-photographic-36-up.html for details).

The first one was just for fun but I love that there was actually some blue sky - finally. Folks from "sunny" southern California get a wee bit grumpy after a week of rainy weather.






and, while i was outside looking up, i saw this little guy. he made me smile.

    Some of us in "the land of molten lava summers" don't mind the rain. And I'm very sad that the last of the storm will hit us tonight.

    If you look at that first picture just right, he's a cute little metal guy with a really big mouth and wings, getting ready to fly off that pole. Or maybe it's just me. I forgot to take my meds this morning...

    The basketball net is a freaky cool shot: My eye and my brain can't agree on the perspective, which forces me to keep looking at it, trying to figure it out. Great, great composition!

    The antenna-ball is delightful. Every time I see one I have to smile. It's nice to cross paths with people with a sense of humor, isn't it?
