Received a phone call Friday night from a dear friend asking me to be a back-up photographer on Saturday. She was scheduled to take pictures at a homeless shelter's Christmas party and just wanted to make sure that all the children got pictures taken.
It was a crazy, hectic night that included a camera that refused to focus, horrible lighting conditions, my camera overheating (didn't know that was possible), kids on sugar highs, and lots of gifts. We tried to get a pic of each kid with Santa and then took some family portraits.
So glad she invited me. It was awesome to spend time with the kids and their families. We get to go back on Thursday to deliver the pictures and help with dinner.
