our first wedding shoot!
Saiz Photography shot their first wedding on Saturday...so much fun. We've know Josh and Kayt for many, many years and have were honored when they asked if we would shoot their special day. Here are a couple of my shots....I'm still waiting for girl1 to finish editing her batch.
aaarrrgggghhhh.....sooo much photography stuff....
Photoshoot last week.....4 days at the theater selling pictures....photography workshop at my house this morning......photoshoot this afternoon....back to the theater on Thursday to sell pictures....organizing girl1's old room into a scrapbooking haven.....
yep...pictures have taken over my life....
it's not necessarily a bad thing....

oh Disneyland.....you make me smile
had a great time at the Disneyland Resort yesterday......
small crowds....cool, overcast day...good friends....pretty much perfection
buy a car......take a trip
I don't know about you, but the first thing we do when we buy a new car is take a roadtrip. So on Friday we headed for Laughlin, Nevada...in July....in the middle of a major heatwave...
this was in the shade...ugh...
On Saturday, we drove down to London Bridge. We visited there a few years back and really enjoyed the quaint shops and English pub. It has changed a lot.....almost all the stores are closed and everything is in major need of refurbishment. So we took a couple pictures and headed off in search of food and air conditioned locations.
view from our room
Had a great meal of prime rib and crab legs (well, hubby1 had prime rib and crab legs...I enjoyed the incredible salad bar). Donated some cash to the casino and headed home on Sunday.
Car ran great.....averaged 38.6 mpg which is more than double what the mustang averaged. overall, a great weekend!
where, oh where have I been?
not sure anyone's been losing sleep over the lack of updates in my corner of the world, but I miss updating the blog. It's been a crazy week. A friend (who owns a theatre company) had her light tech quit right before dress rehearsals began, so I've been running the board for her shows this past weekend.
We also shot the two productions that she is currently producing. We've moved our business online, so we'll see how it works out. Girl1 outdid herself with the pics....they are stinkin' fantastic!
A coworker/friend was in a major car accident on Saturday morning, so that's been weighing heavy on our hearts.
Mother's day was nice...movies and dinner with hubby1 and girl1. messages from the boys (cuz I never answer my phone...lol) We saw Iron Man 2 and the theater stopped the projection before the end of the credits.....do they not realize that there's a teaser at the end? really? girl1 took care of it.

worked hard yesterday and ran away to disneyland today. park was EMPTY! and the weather was PERFECT!
just look at that view! (from the Mickey and Friends parking structure)
spent just a few hours there but it was just what i needed. you can read more about it at the other blog.
that's about it. memorial service, bridal shower and theatre stuff this weekend....should be interesting.
a favorite pic and other randomness
So much coming up in the next few weeks, that I've been running away to Disney as often as possible to get my fix. lol
Here's my favorite pic from last week:
There are more pics from the Disneyland Street Party/Parade over on my Disney blog. Feel free to check them out.
We have a photo shoot at our favorite theatre this week. They're doing "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" AND "Putnam County Spelling Bee." We're shooting both shows and individual cast pictures Thursday night--we're preparing for a very hectic evening.
The wedding plans are moving along nicely. This month appears to be "pay the balance due" month, so I'll be writing lots of checks. Invitations have been mailed and responses are trickling in. We've asked everyone to respond to a website instead of giving them a response card to mail. Yeah for technology! Save a tree and a few stamps!
Boy1 survived the ugly weather in Nashville this weekend with minor flooding in his apartment. Classes have been cancelled today and the college kids are thrilled to have another day to study. Finals are rapidly approaching.
Boy2 appears to be loving Alaska. Work has been off and on, but he's making enough to pay the bills. We get random pictures of moose from him. weirdo....
Girl1 is working for the census for the next 6 weeks. Can't wait to hear the stories! lol
That's about it ...off to have some coffee and get some chores done around the house. I have more of them to do now that all the offspring have left...but the house doesn't seem to be as dirty as it was. It all balances out. =D

houston...we have a website
Yep....Saiz Photography is officially on the world wide web. We now have a website where clients can order their prints. No more sitting at theater's taking orders....no more proof books....I'm going to like this. I'm sure this will lead to a "real" website, but for now we are happy with our internet presence.
Not alot going on there yet, but feel free to check it out. You can see a few shots from girl1's first engagement session. I think she did a fantastic job and it really boosted her confidence.

If you're in the Southern California area and need a photographer, we're available...shoot, for the right price, we'll travel pretty much anywhere.... =D

girl1 at work
Girl1shot her first engagement session yesterday. I haven't seen the proofs yet, but I'm sure they're awesome.

Aren't they cute?
Whenever girl1 told Kayt to stand on tiptoes, she did it too...
made me laugh.
spring is in the air
about the new pic up there^ I took it yesterday on one of those speedy trips through Disneyland. I swear the flowers were simply screaming to be appreciated. I LOVE how it turned out!
Hubby1 is currently removing a huge pine tree so we can expand our garden area. woohoo! Next week we'll turn over the beds and start planning. In just a couple of weeks, it will be time to started planting! I adore this time of year!

time for a Guido post
It's been awhile and Guido was being adorable today. So of course I grabbed the camera and VOILA! more cute puppy pics!
We started with some close-ups.
and then he jumped up on the couch to watch me upload the first set,
so I took some more.
I think he was getting tired of the game by now.
Then he relocated to my lap while I uploaded the newest set.
I guess I was taking too long cuz all of sudden,
this adorable little face was peeking at me from behind my laptop.
"real" life sucks
love vacations....hate coming back to invoices and tax paperwork. so while I'm working on finding my desk, enjoy this pic. It made me smile (you can click on it to enlarge it):
new blog
I've decided to put together a Disney photo blog. This blog will remain the same but you'll be directed to the Disney page for all things related to the happiest place on earth. It just makes sense....to me anyways.
I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with starting a themed-blog. Probably because I like to have a plan and I'm not good at letting things just evolve. Currently I'm thinking something along the lines of documenting Disneyland throughout the year. In my happy place, I would take a series of pictures on the first of each month so you can see how the parks change throughout the year.
I also have a bunch of pics that my dad took in 1956. I really want to put together a "then and now" series. I'm also looking at the old Micky Mouse club and seeing if the different theme days would work somehow on this blog. So many choices...aaarrrrgggghhhhh.
it's over there: http://www.thatdisneyblog.blogspot.com/ feel free to stop by for a visit!

Riverside's little treasure
Yesterday, a friend and I took some time to go play with our cameras. She got a cool new lens for Christmas and couldn't wait to use it. We chose the Mission Inn in Riverside. The mission goes all out for the holidays....thousands of lights, figurines, a skating rink in the mall, street vendors selling fantastic kettle corn and funnel cake. It's a great place to take the family.

it was cold and wet, but we're still smiling.
Have a safe New Year's Eve!
